Today I received an off-putting text from someone that I briefly “dated”, or whatever, as a reaction to a bad breakup. We dated for less than two months over a year ago. He, and ironically the rebound that followed, would not allow use of words like ‘dating’, ‘boyfriend’, or ‘relationship’ as there was “no need to define any thing in actual terms to fit into society’s concept of relationships”. What’s funny is that for people who don’t like to define relationships, they still find the need to call, text, and leave absurd e-mails a year after being a dick to me in some attempt to rekindle the “relationship” that there is apparently no verbal record of. I mean, I get it. I’m awesome- who wouldn’t want to date me? But seriously, when something is over, its over. Move on. Stop contacting me. A few months back I received an e-mail from the big ex who had just been dumped, without sufficient explanation he believed, and wanted me to tell him all of his faults; “personality, looks, sexual performance” to help him figure out what his problem with women was. At first I felt sorry for him and was going to sit him down, get coffee and delicately try to help him. Then I thought ‘Why?!?’. He dumped me, screwed over my life, and only wanted me back when I began sufficiently ignoring him and dating above mentioned “ex”. Why is it that guys can dump or reject women, but then months, or apparently a year later, still keep contacting us and attempting to dredge up the past and act like nothing happened? It pisses me off, and frankly it ruins a perfectly good lazy Wednesday to receive messages from these people. So to any unwanted ex invading my life- stop with the vague/flirty/desperate messages. Move on, please. I have. Thank you.
its really amazing how the guys are crazy about you.
Words can not express how I 100% agree with you, and 200% feel your pain.
