A day in the life of a Ginger

Deliciously Innapropriate and Fully Ridiculous

Really? I mean… really?!? April 16, 2008

So but a few moments ago I was walking out of the gym (in a cute sundress, but still perspire-y none the less) and this guy in a very nice black Ferrari pulls up and starts hitting on me, thus blocking traffic for the entire street. He really wanted me to meet him and his friends at Smith and Wolenski’s for drinks, but I declined (repeatedly) as politely as I could. In his mind he probably thought that blocking traffic was some sort of grand gesture that would make me swoon. Or perhaps he was hoping that I was a gold digging whore who would bone him for his car. Who knows. All I know is that I’m frankly a little thrown by all the random guys approaching me lately, especially after I come out of the gym! Is something going on? Is this all some sort of elaborate joke? Where was all this attention back in high school when I craved nothing more than getting hit on by guys? Because now that I could truly care less, the flood gates have opened, leaving me to be even more annoyed with the general male population than before. Final though: What kind of guy would think that any sensible women- who doesn’t want to end up hacked into pieces and tossed in a dumpster, would just go meet a bunch a strange men at a bar? I mean, really, what kind of idiots does he think/ hope that most women are?

What truly perplexes me, is why any man (or woman for that matter) would think that heckling, harassing or even just hitting on a person from INSIDE THEIR CAR would ever be a good idea. This exact thing you described happens to me so much during my work week being downtown. True, I haven’t just left the gym. Either way it’s absolutely ridiculous. And I think it has everything to do with the fact that we give off the ‘leave me alone, I’m not looking to be hit on” vibe. They are like sharks to blood.
